Cookie Policy
A short, honest note on the few cookies we use to keep kcaloi.com working and fast.
Last updated: June 28, 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help websites function and understand how they're used. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels.
2. How we use them
On kcaloi.com we keep things minimal:
- Essential: required for the site to load and function securely.
- Preferences: remember choices like theme. Stored in your browser's local storage under “kcaloi-theme”, not sent to us.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4, to understand traffic and improve the site.
We do not use cookies to sell your personal data, and we do not run advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Analytics in detail
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to measure aggregate traffic. It is loaded with Google Consent Mode defaulting to denied, so analytics storage is not written until consent is granted, and IP addresses are anonymised.
When analytics is active it may set the following cookies:
- _ga — distinguishes browsers, expires after 2 years.
- _ga_KJXM7MDNRJ — used by GA4 to persist session state, expires after 2 years.
Google acts as our processor for this data, and processing may involve transfers outside the UK/EEA under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can opt out for all sites with Google's browser add-on, or block these cookies in your browser.
4. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
5. The app
The Kcaloi iOS app does not use web cookies and does not include Google Analytics; in-app data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
